My dear friend, Linda, gave this salt keeper to me as a hostess gift. She knew I had bought one similar to it a few months ago, only to be disappointed with its quality and usefulness. Not so with this one! It is finely crafted out of one piece of olive wood, and opens and closes with absolute ease. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking and who has an eye for beauty!

We only use kosher salt, and love the tactile feel of pinching salt over food. This salt keeper is divine. The wood is gorgeous. The size is just right - not too big and not too small. The hinged lid is life-long sturdy and smooth. Our teenager is adamant about not buying any "Made in China" products, so we felt good about supporting an artisan-made product from France. We could not be happier.

I purchased this on a whim and absolutely love it and wonder how I got along without it in my kitchen. It is convenient, easy to use and I cannot say enough great things about it. I was leary with putting my fingers in there to grab salt while preparing dishes, but it is not gross at all. Don't know how I can say this with my percularities, but it just works for busy cooks.
